Doug Pepper Joins Shasta Ventures
We are thrilled to announce that Doug Pepper (https://www.linkedin.com/in/dougpepper) has joined our partnership as Managing Director at Shasta Ventures. Doug is a great fit with us culturally, brings a wealth of experience in software investing and shares our deep commitment to entrepreneurs.
We have a tight partnership at Shasta so we were very careful about adding another person to our group. After ten years together, we wanted to continue to build our software practice and bring new energy to the firm. We were looking for a partner with a unique combination of software expertise and a fit with our team. We have known Doug for many years and always respected his investing performance and personal characteristics. His references supported our instinct with rave reviews about his role in helping build companies, having productive relationships with entrepreneurs and his personal integrity. In our discussions over the last year, it was clear we shared a desire and vision to continue to build Shasta with a focus on early stage technology investing. We are confident he will be an exceptional cultural fit internally and with entrepreneurs and our limited partners.
Doug has been in venture capital for 15 years with InterWest Partners with a focus on investing in SaaS and mobile companies. He has invested in companies that are tackling important problems in marketing and sales, advertising, customer success and more. He has proven to have a great nose for identifying ground-breaking ideas and teams at the early stages. He was the first investor in Marketo in 2006, which is now a public company, as well as an early investor in Optimizely, Flurry (acquired by Yahoo!) and Lombardi (acquired by IBM). In addition, he is a board member of Appboy, Badgeville, INVIDI, Newscred, Spredfast and Tapjoy.
